Hello, I'm Rebecca.
I'm a wife, mom and the maker behind Crafting Journal.
I love all sorts of crafts like knitting, crochet, quilting, cross stitch and embroidery.
Oftentimes I gravitated towards what ends up being the slowest way to do things.
I love trying new crafts.
I don't mind doing things I'm not good at.
I believe that spending time doing something is part of the process of improving.

My core values are kindness, dependability and hopefulness. These are the things that I believe are meaningful and I want my life to be an example of these.
Kindness - Acting with compassion and respect towards all (including myself!)
Dependability - Being someone others can trust and count on.
Hopefulness - Looking forward to the future with optimism and faith even during challenging times.

The Purpose for Crafting Journal
I believe there is power, clarity and purpose in making.
Making - Bringing something into existence using my hands and mind. Creating something, whether original or an iteration, that hadn't existed in that form - putting materials, ingredients, sounds or words together.
My hope is to be your biggest support and cheerleader as you make things. Perhaps you endeavor to learn new crafts. I want to find a way to help you learn to believe in yourself.
By trying a new craft you give yourself an opportunity to learn, to work through problems and to create something with your own hands that you can choose to be proud of.
This isn't about perfection - this is about your experience. This is about trying. And learning. And the confidence that comes from each thing you create just builds.
In the photo above, I'm the lil' one in the front sticking out my tongue. My older sister is riding the tricycle..barefoot. Gotta love the 70s.
I know we can do this. Let's go create something!
